NCP Orientation Training

The NCP orientation training was organized for the non formal students in Wellington, Nilgiris on 10th of August 2014. On the 11th of August, 2014 NCP training was conducted for St. Joseph’s High school children in Connor. The Resource person Mr. Maria Vasantha Kumar gave input session on child rights. UN convention has given “Right to participation” as the 4th rights as a child right. Neighborhood children parliament concept was developed from the Rights to participation.  The concepts of neighborhood children parliament made the children learn how to construct themselves fundamentally. About 150 children participated in the NCP training programme. The children participated in all activities with great enthusiasm. Six NCP groups were formed both in non formal education and in school. The ministers in the group were chosen by their own group members and they christened their NCPs with the names of great leaders.  The children thus started their journey as committed members and responsible citizens.
