ORIENTATION PROGRAM
Orientation Program: The Animators of the Neighbourhood Children Parliament were given orientation on 28th June 2015 at Mornese, Yercaud. 12 Staff from different communities participated in the program. The Staff of ARUWYE explained the insecure situation faced by children today. A documentary on Child Abuse was screened. Brain storming session was conducted to enable the participants to share their knowledge and experiences regarding child abuse. The following activities were suggested at the end of the discussion:
- To conduct training programmes for staff and children on child rights
- To bring out monthly magazine by children to express their experiences and share success stories
- To conduct rallies, campaigns and plan common actions to create awareness about child abuse, human trafficking and happy childhood
The session was followed by the participants framing the action plan for the current academic year as a means to ensure child rights in the target areas.
