Children parliament on 03 May 2014 | Saturday
No sweets but Note-books and School-bags
Ulagampatti is a village in Agaram Panchayat. It is Surrounded by many other villages. The Auxilium Community has taken the initiative to form children's Parliament in Ulagampatti, Achampatti, Appanampatti, Karungalpatti and Vadakaiyur. Caste discrimination is prevalent in this area. Work allocation according to the caste prevails in these villages and therefore the people suffer from poverty which is manifested in many forms and spheres. The NCP has been a boon to these children who have great hope-filled dreams for their future.
The Home minister of Ulagampatti NCP suggested that they should provide note-books and school bags to the poor school going children during Christmas celebration and to invite the village President and the ward Councillors in order to build rapport with the local governance. All the NCP children of Ulagampatti welcomed the proposal. They were a bit worried about the finance for the project. The finance Minister said that they should ask for donations from the Panchayat. A team was formed to invite the President and the councillors for the celebration and to request for donations. The Vice President readily accepted their invitation for the celebration and agreed to offer books and bags for twenty students from very poor economic background.
